AUDITIONING
Auditions for upcoming adult shows are usually held the first two nights after the previous show ends (or shortly after Labor Day for the first show of the season). Audition dates and times are posted on our Current Season and Home pages. Auditioners read from the play script instead of performing a prepared monologue. Copies of scripts from the current season are available (for in-library reading only) at the Danville Public Library. Everyone who is cast in a show is required to purchase a season membership.
Information on auditioning for children's shows is found on our Children's Theater page.

SUMMER ONE-ACTS
Red Mask occasionally offers a summer season original one-acts. A contest is held in the months before to select the plays.
The contest is open to high school students through adult writers. Only unpublished, original plays are considered, and all scripts must be typed. Plays are judged on originality, quality of writing and adaptability for the Red Mask stage. Red Mask reserves the right to edit for gratuitous sex, violence or language. Manuscripts will be returned to the writer if accompanied by self-addressed, stamped envelope. Red Mask Players claim exclusive rights to the plays for the rehearsal and performance period, after which rights revert to the author. Winning authors will be furnished with a videotape of the production.
