Ready for slamming doors, perfectly timed chaos, and a few misplaced sardines? Red Mask Players is celebrating its 90th season with Noises Off, the celebrated comedy about a theater company whose backstage antics are even wilder than the show they’re trying to perform.

Performers of all ages, experience levels, and backgrounds are encouraged to audition. Whether you’ve been onstage for years or have never auditioned before, we’d love to see you there.

Synopsis

A theater company is rehearsing Nothing’s On, a comedy full of slamming doors, missed cues, and misplaced sardines. As backstage romances and rivalries spill into the performance, keeping the show on track becomes an increasingly impossible task. With a rotating set that reveals what happens behind the scenes, Noises Off lets audiences watch the actors’ carefully rehearsed chaos come spectacularly undone.

Roles

• Dotty Otley (Mrs. Clackett): Playing age 50 or older.

• Lloyd Dallas: The director, romantically involved with Brooke and Poppy.

• Garry Lejeune (Roger Tramplemain): Playing age 30s; handsome.

• Brooke Ashton (Vicki): Playing age 20s–30s. This role includes an appearance in lingerie.

• Poppy Norton-Taylor: The assistant stage manager.

• Frederick Fellowes (Philip Brent): Playing age 40s; takes acting seriously.

• Belinda Blair (Flavia Brent): Playing age 30s.

• Tim Allgood: The exhausted stage manager.

• Selsdon Mowbray (the Burglar): Older, befuddled, and fond of a drink.

What to Expect

Auditions will consist primarily of readings from the script. A copy of the play is available at the Danville Public Library.​
